BREED'N BETSY NEWS

SEPTEMBER 2009

Well another year is flying along quickly, and Betsy is now being used in 13 Countries.

I have developed several new products currently in the final trial stages, which will be released before Christmas. These include the Water Rectum and a reproductive tract with seven interchangeable ovaries. Photos and information are available via the website.

For those of you involved in the equine industry, Breed'n Bonny the horse, has been trialed and will also be available prior to Christmas. Her package will include the reproductive tract, artificial breeding cervixes, ovaries with follicles and cysts, the back end and the pelvis; and the water rectum. (This is available as a separate item to purchase.)

Two projects already in development, to be completed after Breed'n Bonny, are the artificial calf for obstetrics and calving down, and also the ultrasound trainer scanning the bovine and equine foetus from 14 - 60 days.

If you have any problems or issues with Breed'n Betsy, please let me know so that I can offer any assistance to you. Also, if you have any suggestions or requests for accessories, please contact me, as some of the new products have been developed from requests on my tours.

There has recently been a study done at Ghent Veterinary University in Belgium, on Betsy, which highlighted the benefits of the pregnancy diagnosis training kit which was found to be very successful in preparing students to move into live animal training. The feedback also suggested some improvements in artificial breeding components, which has led to the new complete cervix and the water rectum.

I have been trialing the water rectum over the last four months in my breeding classes, and I have found there has been a 70% improvement in locating the organs when palpating the live animal for the first time. The water rectum allows the organs to float in a realistic position, which allows the students to perform a pelvic sweep and accurately locate the cervix.

See the attachments included for new product information.

All the Betsy wishes,

Brad Pickford.
