Breed'n Bonny
After many enquiries and requests, I am pleased to announce the exciting new, unique equine training simulator, Breed'n Bonny.
Breed'n Bonny, the horse, offers a range of training devices including pregnancy diagnosis from pre conception to 56 days gestation.
She also enables the skill development of ovary palpation and scanning allowing multiple trials by students, reducing the number of live horses required for this process by up to six animals per student.
Artificial breeding techniques are simple to demonstrate on Bonny, including the insertion of pipetts through the lifelike cervix with realistic external and internal textures.
Thanks must go to Professor Peter Chenoweth and Dr Scott Norman, both of whom have extensive experience in Australia and the United States of America in the field of Animal Reproduction. These professionals, along with the Charles Sturt University, New South Wales, Australia, have had a large input into the development, design excellence and refinement of Breed'n Bonny through their expertise, Knowledge and trialling of the product.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank Dr Ian McLeod, Hamilton, Victoria, Australia for his knowledgeable input, and developmental assistance after many years of working in the thoroughbred racing industry, and is still a practicing veterinarian. His endless paitence and continued support for this project have been invaluable.
Breed'n Bonny will be available from February 2011, with each piece being made specifically to order, with a 6-8 week delivery time from receipt of payment. Please refer to the web site www.breednbetsy.com.au for the package which best meets your requirements, or phone Brad for more specific details. Please note that the equine pregnancy diagnosis accessories are only available to registered Veterinary Universitys.
Water Rectum
To increase the realistic "feel" of Breed'n Betsy and Bonny, I have developed and trialled the "Water Rectum" which is designed to be attched to the frames of both Breed'n Betsy and Bonny.
This product has made the feeling and internal pressures of both the bovine and equine rectal passage, as realistic as possible in an artificial device. The Water Rectum allows the students to learn, with the

combination use of real and artificial organs, palpation, retraction, ultra sounding, arrtficial breeding practices including: dye testing, semen and embryo insertion and flushing.
Traditionally, a prolapse has been very difficult for students to learn or observe, unless an animal in the immediate area has displayed these symptoms. The Water Rectum has an additional feature, where by a prolapse can be reinserted by the students, to develop the correct procedure for this technique.
As a special offer until April 2011, with the purchase of the Water Rectum, you will receive, free of charge.
- The new Equine or Bovine soft, silicon back end panel
- New Pelvic wall which is used for both bovine and equine latex attachments
- Pelvic rod connectors which are used for the bovine pelvis and water rectum
- New soft bovine uterine arteries
All these are new and improved products.
You can also view the accessories catalogue online for updated products, as over time, the latex items will deteriorate, and reordering will ensure you have the necessary working parts for all of your training courses.
I will be attending the USA Wisconsin reproduction conference in August 2011 with Breed'n Bonny along side with Professor Peter Chenoweth and the Charles Sturt University. Please feel free to visit me there, or contact me at your convenience.
Looking forward hearing from you this year,
All the Betsy Wishes
